Maison de la Mer

Maison de la Mer was built in 1874, using local sandstone, which has been fully uncovered and restored inside and out. The house sits quietly within its own secluded grassed 5000 sq/m grounds, and is the perfect retreat for a family providing a safe place for children to run and play in a relaxing and calm environment.

The house has been fully restored retaining many original features, such as the natural stone walls, beamed ceilings and the huge fireplace. A long driveway leads from a quiet village road which carries minimal traffic, and ample parking is available for your cars and trailer. The beach is close by, and there are sea views from the second floor windows. There are 4 bedrooms, which comfortably sleep eight people. The main bathroom is on the first floor, with an en-suite to the loft.

The ground floor consists of a spacious loung/kitchen-diner. There are two sets of french doors leading out to the courtyard, in the lounge and kitchen respectivley.

 The centre piece of the lounge has to be the huge inglenook stone fireplace, and along with the natural stone walls all have been restored to their original condition. There are two large 3 seater settees, easy chairs and side-tables, table lamps and a Cd player.

The spacious kitchen is fully fitted with new appliances, including: electric oven with gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee percolator, and a complete set of cooking utensils and pots and pans. The dining area has a full farmhouse table, with seating for 8/10 people. A baby chair is available if required.

The Kitchen

From the centre of the room the staircase leads off and half way up you go through to the back rooms of the house. The second lounge is through here, and access to the 4th bedroom leads off. Access to the rear garden can also be gained through the second lounge.

On the first floor are two bedrooms and the main bathroom.

Brand new bathroom with shower and bath, toilet and vanity unit (towels are not provided).

The Master bedroom is fully fitted with a double bed and built in wardrobes either side. Reading lights over the bed, and bedroom furniture.

There are two single beds, two wardrobes and chest of drawers in the second bedroom.

Second Bedroom

On the second floor the loft has been converted into a bedroom with en-suite. In this loft conversion there is a double bed with canopy, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and en-suite with shower, sink and toilet.

Loft Bedroom

Leading off the second lounge, is the fourth bedroom. In this bedroom there are two single beds and complete bedroom furniture including, wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside tables with lamps.

Back Bedroom

The house sits in the centre of its grounds, with a large enclosed and private courtyard to the front, and secluded gardens to the side and rear. There is full garden furniture and a large bbq. There are also games like badmington, football and boules available.
